In PrestaShop, you can create as many groups for your customers. In fact, each of your customers must be present at least in any one of the groups. By default, PrestaShop includes 3 groups based on the type of customer. They are:

You can add the customers to any one of the default groups or create a new group and add the customers to the group. You can also give a discount to any specific group according to your interest.
How to change a default customer group in PrestaShop?
To change the customer’s default group, you can do it by following these simple steps.
Login to your PrestaShop account and go to the “Customers” Menu
The Customers’ menu has five different sub-menus to perform different actions. Under those sub-menus choose the “Groups” menu.
The Groups’ menu has lists of groups that are currently present. It shows the details of the group like its name, discounts are given, members present in the group, and the created date. Now, choose the group in which the customer is currently present.
Instead of clicking the edit option-click the “view” option. Clicking the edit option will take you to the page where you can only perform changes to the customer’s details. So, click on “view”.
Here, you can view and manage your Customer’s details. This page shows the list of customers, their name, email address, date of birth, and registration date.
Now choose the customer, to whom you want to change the default customer group in PrestaShop. Click the “edit” option to perform changes to the customer.
Editing the customer group in PrestaShop
The Editing page will have a set of lists where you can give or edit the basic details of the customers like their name, email address, password, and other basic details. At the bottom of the page, the “Group access” and “Default customer group” options will be provided.
The Group access option will show the list of groups that the customer is currently present. You can add the customer to the group or remove them. Finally, the “Default customer group” option allows you to set the default group to your customer. Click on the group in which you want to select as a default one and save it.
Once you finish saving the changes, the default group for the customer is now changed. The customer can get discounts from only the selected group.
