Step 1: Create a UPS Shipping account

It is essential to build a UPS Shipping account first before configuring this shipping method.

Step 2: Apply UPS carrier 

  • On the Admin Panel, you can go to Stores, then tap Settings, Select Configurations.
  • On the left panel, In Sales, choose Shipping Method.
  • Open the UPS section
    • By selecting yes in the Enabled for Checkout field, you can agree to permit the UPS method.
    • If you choose UPS Type to “United Parcel Service”, you need to continue:
      • You may choose one of the following options in the Live Account field :
        • Select “Yes” – if you want to run-UPS in production mode and recommend the UPS as a shipping method for your clients.
        • Select “No” – if you want UPS to run in only test mode.
        • To determine the UPS shipping rate, you may enter the Gateway URL. The default is ready to use, and you don’t need to modify it.
    • If you set-UPS Type to “United Parcel Service XML”
  • To classify, UPS Type should be set to “United Parcel XML”.
    • Finish UPS XML account information: Access License Number, Password, and User ID.
    • Permit sending data to the UPS shipping system by setting Live for the Mode.
    • If you want to send requests by an XML file, Verify the Gateway XML URL.
    • You may select the Origin of the Shipment that is the region the shipment begins.
    • If you build special rates with UPS, select Yes for Enable Negotiated Rates. Then it is necessary to enter 6-character in the Shipper Number field.
  • You may type the Title for the name of the shipping method that is shown during the checkout process. If skipped, the title default- “United Parcel Service” is enabled.

Step 3: Setup the Container Description

  • You may select the Packages Request Type: “Use origin weight” or “Divide to equal weight”.
  • You may place the Container to the typical packaging type for the shipment.
  • You may place the Weight Unit to “LBS” or “KGS”.
  • You may choose the Destination Type:
    • “Residential” – Nearly all your shipments are business to consumer (B2C)
    • “Commercial” – Nearly all your shipments are business to business (B2B)
  • You may include the number of the Maximum Package Weight in the carrier.
  • You may place the Pick Method to the available options: “Regular Daily Pickup”, “On-Call Air”, “One Time Pickup”, “Letter Center”, and “Customer Counter”.
  • You may include the number of the Minimum Package Weight in the carrier.

Step 4: Setup Handling Fees

  • You may place Calculate Handling Fee to “Fixed” or “Percent”.
  • In the Handling Applied field, allow identifying how to calculate the handling fee.
  • You may include the amount of the Handling Fee.

Step 5: allocate Allowed Methods and related Countries

  • In the Allowed Method list, you may choose the UPS method offered to your customers.
  • You may choose the UPS service you want to apply free shipping for in the Free Method field.
  •  When UPS Shipping is not presented, you may type an error message in the Displayed Error Message box that will be shown.
  • You can locate Ship to Applicable Countries to one of the following options:
    • All Allowed Countries: UPS Shipping is supported for all countries.
    • Specific Countries: UPS Shipping is only supported for preferred countries.
  • You may place Show Method if Not Applicable to yes if you want to display UPS Shipping all time.
  • To build a log file with the details of UPS shipments, you may select Debug to “Yes”.
  • You may choose the Sort Order on the Shipping Method on the checkout page.
  •  After complete, select save Config.
